Just Checking in...

You may have noticed my lack of blog presence lately. Didn't want to bore you all with the itty bitty details, but suffice to say that I had a bit of a health scare two weeks ago today. Thank heavens it is treatable and I'm under the best care. Just laying low and enduring some painful headaches!

Paris Hotel Boutique
continues to be open for holiday hours (24/7). I'm so lucky to have my assistants Dianna and Erin helping with everything. A formal introduction to Erin to be coming real soon.

I've missed my daily favorite blog reads, so I'm going to have a lot of catching up with all of you. Two weeks feels like such a long time!

In the meantime, I may be having some of my favorite guest bloggers here, so don't be shy. Can't wait to hear about what everyone has been up to!

Ladurée in NYC!

These gorgeous ceramic candles from the famed Parisian pastry icon Ladurée are finally available in the USA exclusively at Aedes de Venustas in NYC. Yummy flavors include Caramel au beurre salé {caramel with salted butter}, Mille et Une Nuits {a spicy, woodsy scent}, date, Fleur de Oranger, violet, Mimosa, and many more. Almost as tasty as a macaron!

And, the boxes are almost as pretty as the ceramic pots. So, if you can't make it to Paris for a macaron, visit Aedes de Venustas here and treat yourself to a pretty candle!

Bonjour!

We Are The Champions!

I can hardly contain myself as last night the San Francisco Giants won their first World Series title!

I have fond childhood memories of both my maternal and paternal grandfathers watching every Giants game on TV and listening to their little transistor radios. If only they were here to have witnessed this extraordinary event. They would have been so proud. And I am so proud to have experienced this magical evening in the city I was born!

CHEERS to my grandpas...

In honor of the Giants...

The City is aglow in orange...

thousands of fans are dancing in the streets!

San Francisco is crazed and anxiously awaiting the parade on Wednesday!

BIG CONGRATULATIONS to the San Francisco Giants...World Champions!

Something to Share

I was absolutely thrilled when Valerie Schmalz, a writer for the San Francisco Catholic Weekly contacted me about doing a story about my great-grandfather's work. She had come across my other blog samuelberger.blogspot.com, and thought there could be a potential story.

This past Friday the story was officially in the paper and online. I'm so elated to have my great-grandfather recognized for his magnificent wood-carving!

You can read the whole article here. The story is titled, "Jewish Artisan's Legacy of Christian Beauty." Big thanks to Valerie for doing this lovely tribute!

Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead!
